No Tax Due Report

During a recent lunch with a friend, I faced skepticism when I mentioned that filing the No Tax Due Report in Texas is no longer obligatory. To confirm, my friend called her tax professional, who, to our surprise, was unaware of this change and promised to investigate further.

This situation isn't uncommon for me; I regularly encounter clients who are misinformed or can't seem to get the answers they need. To address this issue, our firm places a high value on continuous education. We believe it's essential to keep up with the frequent law and regulation updates throughout the year, surpassing the minimum requirements for continuing education and communicating with our clients.

UPDATE - Texas Comptroller

Beginning with reports due in 2024, taxable entities with annualized total revenue less than or equal to the no tax due threshold are no longer required to file a No Tax Due Report but MUST file a Public/Ownership Information Report. The no tax due threshold is $2.47 million. If you exceed the threshold, you ARE REQUIRED to file your Franchise Tax report no later than May 15, 2024.
